Graham London is going back to the roots with its new Silverstone Vintage 44, a watch that pays a tribute to the origins of racing.
The new Graham Silverstone Vintage 44, which is powered by an automatic bi-compax chronograph movement, not only celebrates the brand’s passion for racing tracks, but also for beautiful mechanics. The watch is designed to revive the experience of the legendary classic car racing, the genuine racing that motivated the 19th century engineers to create petrol-fueled machines for race. The Gentlemen behind the wheel were focused on their cars only, and their passion for driving was much stronger than any competition. Even the rules of the race were much different than today, as the cars and the mechanics were all that was important at the time. For example, the essential condition for participation was to have a vehicle equipped with at least three wheels. It was all about technical developments and pure mechanics… just as in watchmaking.
The Graham Silverstone Vintage 44 is based on the very same principles, streamlined and polished to attain genuine aerodynamics and technology. This watch is created in compliance with the codes of vintage racing, preserving the spirit of the gone by era and its core values. The watch is described as “a non-competitive race, which rewards watch making savoir-faire and spectators.”
The see-through sapphire crystal case back reveals the Calibre G1702 automatic chronograph which beats at 28'800 A/h and provides about 40 hours of power reserve. This automatic chronograph wristwatch arrives in a 44 mm steel case, with either black or off-white dial. The bezel is also crafted from steel, and it features a “Clous de Paris” high grip pattern. The watch face reveals second and 30 minute counters, a date window at 7 o’clock, and centrally-positioned indications for hours, minutes and seconds. The black lacquered hands and numerals are coated with beige Super-LumiNova, which gives this model its unique vintage appeal.
Graham Silverstone Vintage 44 is mounted on brown leather strap. The watch is referenced as 2SABS.B05A for black and 2SABS.W01A for white-dial version. Both models are priced at CHF 5.900.
