On the occasion of the SIHH 2018 watch salon, the house of H. Moser & Cie introduces the new orbital time display watch, designed in collaboration with Hautlence. The original new Endeavour Flying Hours is a fresh take on the wandering hours complication, which typically uses discs or “satellites” inscribed with numerals for hours to show the passage of time across an arc marked out in minutes - therefore the name „wandering hours.“ This interesting complication is the backbone of the entire Urwerk collection. Audemars Piguet offers its own interpretation of the concept with the Star Wheel, Arnold & Son’s Golden Wheel combines the wandering hours and true beats seconds complications, while Breguet builds wandering hours watches ever since 1775.
In 2018, H. Moser & Cie introduces the brand new Endeavour model fitted out with a Funky Blue dial and a unique orbital time display that uses a system of three spinning hour discs to display the time. Unlike traditional wandering hours displays, where the hours disks revolve around the dial, here it remains in the same position, while the minute track turns around in the center, jumping forward the hours as it progresses.
This was made possible by the brand new automatic movement Caliber C806, which is developed in partnership with Hautlence. The mechanism, based on the H. Moser caliber HMC 200, oscillates at a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, providing up to 72 hours of power reserve. Its oscillating weight, made from solid red gold, can be admired through the sapphire crystal case-back.
The watch is made from white gold and it measures 42 mm in diameter and 12 mm in thickness.
H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Flying Seconds, nicknamed “Sputnik” after the first artificial Earth satellite, is limited to 50 pieces worldwide. The watch will be available by mid-2018, and is priced at $32,000. Reference number 1806-0200. For more information, please visit h-moser.com.
