Hublot unveils two special editions honoring the famous tourist destination in northern Sardinia - Costa Smeralda
On the evening of July 16th, in beautiful Porto Cervo – the famous luxury resort and the center of Costa Smeralda – Hublot unveiled a very special piece, designed to honor the 50th anniversary of the village. This small township, which rises along the coasts of the gulf of Arzachena, was established by prince Karim Aga Khan, back in 1962. The beautiful natural bay on which it stands is shaped like the horns of a deer, from which the place takes its name. The 50th birthday of the iconic marina was an ideal moment to unveil two new models in the Hublot range, and to dedicate each of them to the Costa Smeralda: the Big Bang Costa Smeralda for ladies and the King Power Costa Smeralda for men. Both watches are offered in a limited edition and inspired by the beauty, prestige, freedom and joy of this place on the northern coast of the Italian island of Sardinia.
Two exclusive dedicated limited editions Big Bang Costa Smeralda and King Power Costa Smeralda, are each available in only 100 exemplars. The watches are crafted from noble gold and encrusted in diamonds.
The ladies edition, Big Bang Costa Smeralda, arrives in 41 mm diameter polished and satin-finished 18-carat red gold case. The bezel of this watch is set with 319 white diamonds, weighing about 1.49 carats, while matt white dial shows seconds at 3 o’clock and a minute counter at 9 o’clock. The case-back features personalized crystal with the Porto Cervo Marina exclusive logo and reveals workings of the mechanical self-winding movement HUB1141 - Flyback Chronograph. Ladies who appreciate mechanical watchmaking will certainly enjoy the fact that Big Bang Costa Smeralda provides about 42 hours of power reserve. The watch is issued under the reference number 347.PE.2123.LR.1104.PCM12 and it arrives on white rubber and white alligator strap with golden deployant buckle.
Hublot King Power Costa Smeralda, for men, arrives in 48 mm diameter King Gold case with 18-carat King Gold with white rubber molding. Instead of a regular dial, the men’s version has a matte white open-worked dial which reveals the HUB4214 skeleton chronograph movement. At 9 o'clock position, the watch shows permanent seconds indicator with Porto Cervo Marina logo. Chronograph hand is coated with red SuperLuminova, while delicate hands feature red gold plating and white luminant. The mechanical self-winding chronograph movement, used for this watch, drives date indicator as well, and provides no less than 42 hours of power reserve. Hublot King Power Costa Smeralda watch is issued under the reference number 710.OE.2123.GR.PCM12 and it arrives on white rubber and white alligator strap with golden deployant buckle in King Gold.
