To mark the third anniversary of its collaboration with Ferrari, Hublot is launching two new Ferrari racing models – the Big Bang Ferrari Black Ceramic, and Big Bang Ferrari Grey Ceramic.
On the occasion of the BaselWorld 2015, Hublot introduces new additions to its sporty assortment of racing watches. Two new Big Bang Ferrari "racing" versions will be officially unveiled in a couple of weeks, at the world’s leading trade show for the watch and jewelry industry, which takes place from March 19th to 26, 2015. The Ferrari range was introduced back in 2012, with the Big Bang Ferrari Titanium and the Big Bang Magic Gold, soon to be followed with the notorious MP-05 LaFerrari (with no less than 50 days of power reserve), and three Big Bang models in both 2013, and 2014. In 2015, Hublot celebrates the 10th anniversary of the Big Bang with two new Ferrari models in black or gray ceramic.
The Big Bang Ferrari Black Ceramic sports vibrant red details, reminiscent of Ferrari’s classic racing red, while the Big Bang Ferrari Grey Ceramic takes its design cues from the historic North America Racing Team. Both watches measure 45mm in diameter, and they are fitted with an openworked dial through which the movement can be admired. The ceramic case accommodates Hublot’s in-house UNICO movement, which is topped by a so-called Ferrari grille - a black crisscross mesh that exposes its main plates and bridges. The case-back is also fitted with a see-through sapphire, to reveal the exclusively designed oscillating weight in the shape of a Ferrari wheel rim.
The watch face reveals the Ferrari’s famous insignia – the prancing horse – at 9 o’clock, while the date window appears in the minute-counter at 3 o’clock. The indices and hands have a rhodium-plated finish for the gray ceramic version of the Big Bang Ferrari, and red varnish for the black ceramic. The predominant color of the strap also mirrors the aesthetic of the dial – it is either red or gray, with black or blue, and white stripes, reminiscent of racing car graphics. At the middle of the case there is another nod to Ferrari - the elongated push-buttons fixed to a rotating staff like the pedals of a car.
The HUB 1241 UNICO automatic flyback chronograph movement is developed and manufactured in Hublot’s workshops. It promises around 72 hours of power reserve, while the robust case protects it from the ingress of water to up to 100 meters. The Big Bang Ferrari in black or gray ceramic is available in a limited edition, each counting 250 pieces. Their straps are equipped with the “one click” attachment system, inspired by car seat belts, which makes them easily interchangeable.
