At BaselWorld 2016, Hublot unveiled the most elegant version of its flagship Classic Fusion model, the , designed in collaboration with the famous Parisian luxury shoe manufacturer. This year, building upon the success of the premiere Berluti timepiece, the famous Swiss watchmaker introduces the Classic Fusion Chronograph Berluti, a watch that fuses mechanical watchmaking and inimitable patina of Berluti leathers.
Berluti, a subsidiary brand of LVMH, is known for its unique leather finishing of calfskin, kangaroo leather and alligator skin. Founded in France in 1895, Berluti has developed the art of patina. The patina treatment sets the shoes’ color definitely, taming the passage of time. Each pair of Berluti’s shoes is completely unique as they borrow their nuances from essential oils, natural pigments and various waxes.
Last year, on the occasion of Berluti’s 120th anniversary, Hublot introduced the Classic Fusion Berluti model, made from Berluti’s famous Venezia leather. Venezia is a full-grain leather of exceptional quality, produced by the virtue of special mineral and vegetable tanning. This year, the Classic Fusion Chronograph, arrives in two distinct variants: Scritto King Gold and Scritto All Black. Scritto is the emblematic Berluti design that pays homage to calligraphy – etching in the leather.
The new Berluti watches feature a genuine brown or black Berluti patinated Venezia leather dial with Scritto décor and embossed indexes. Their matching straps are crafted from black rubber and genuine brown or black Berluti patinated Venezia leather with Scritto furnishings. Their 45mm-wide cases are made from either 18-karat King Gold or black ceramic.
The Classic Fusion Chronograph Berluti is powered by the self-winding HUB1143 movement, which beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour and provides around 42 hours of power reserve. The movement, assembled from 280 components and 59 jewels, can be admired through the sapphire case-back. The watch is water resistant to 5 ATM (50m).
Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Berluti is limited to 250 pieces of each, both models feature hand-crafted straps, presented in a Berluti bespoke box containing a complete Berluti leather care set.
