The house of Hublot has just introduced a Classic Fusion collection of three limited edition timepieces designed to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Fuente Fuente Opus X. According to purists, the Fuente Fuente Opus X is the rarest, and the most sought after cigar in the world.
The king of cigars is regarded as the absolute reference in both terms of its flavor and the quality of its execution. For example, before authorized to work on production of the Fuente Fuente Opus X, the cigar rollers, also known as torcedores, have to undergo an additional 10 months of specific training. Moreover, while other factories make their prestigious cigar models from 5 leaves of tobacco, the Fuente Fuente Opus X is composed of no less than nine rollers. In 2017, the amazingly complex, high-quality cigar celebrates 20 years of success among connoisseurs. To mark the occasion, Hublot and Arturo Fuente continue their friendly partnership that has already produced two horological creations: the Hublot King Power Arturo Fuente, and Hublot Arturo Fuente Classic Fusion ForbiddenX. Hublot to choose to join the 20th anniversary celebrations for the Opus X, by launching three commemorative watches in limited editions. These new Hublot Classic Fusion 45mm Fuente 20th Anniversary Special Edition models will be limited to a production of 20 watches each.
All three new timepieces measure 45mm in diameter, and feature the HUB1112 caliber, an automatic movement with a 42-hour power reserve. The watches are delivered in a special presentation case that doubles as a cigar humidor. Their backs are engraved with an exclusive illustration of the Fuente family with the “Château de la Fuente, Fuente Fuente Opus X 20 Years” inscription, as well as the model’s limited edition series number. Each of them arrives on a black alligator strap lined with rubber.
The first version is made from satin-finished black ceramic with a bezel made from the same material. This one has a blue dial adorned with the famous X decorating the rings of the legendary puro, doubled for the occasion to become the number 20 in Roman numerals. The blue of the dial is offset by red gold plated hands. The watch is mounted on a black alligator strap. 511.CX.6689.LR.OPX16
The second version is made from brushed titanium, with its case and bezel finely embossed with engravings reproducing tobacco motifs interlinked into the letter X. The engravings on the case-back are partially lacquered in blue. The watch is paired with a grey alligator strap. 511.NX.6679.LR.OPX16
The third version is made from King Gold, the precious red gold variant developed and patented by Hublot. This one features the same engravings as the titanium model, and it comes in a brown alligator leather strap. 511.OX.6689.GR.OPX16
