The Hublot RED DEVIL is finally officially unveiled!
The new King Power is unveiled on the hallowed turf of Old Trafford, in a special ceremony held by Manchester United players, Sir Alex Ferguson and Jean-Claude Biver, CEO of Hublot. The new King Power is a tribute to the world’s most famous football club, for which the Hublot has been the Official Timekeeper since 2008. The new honoring piece is for the first time equipped with a chronograph movement with two center chrono hands: the first hand indicates the seconds, and the other hand, especially designed for football fans, indicates the time elapsed out of the 45 minutes in each half. This new functionality certainly ads to better readability and efficiency as it allows the wearer to track both hands at a single glance.
The devilish creation is offered in two variations: crafted in micro-blasted black ceramic or in 18K King Gold. It features the old but slightly revamped The King Power case, with 48 millimeters in diameter. The watch highlights red diabolic details and the rebellious Red Devils emblem. Fiery tones are used on the minute track, for a time counter at 9 o’clock and on a date window at 4 o’clock. The watch indexes pay a tribute to the Old Trafford's more than one hundred year-old turf, painted in the natural grass-green shade which is made using the real blades of grass from the epic stadium. It was a real challenge for the Hublot manufacture to find a way to preserve natural plant material and use it in this exclusive limited edition series. It took more than 6 months of development just to find a way to make this grass resistant to UV rays and other environmental effects. Now they are coated with a special transparent lacquer and permanently secured.
The movement HUB4245 chronograph movement has undergone the skeleton working, and its breathtaking current is now fully visible even from the front. The top of the movement is coated in black ruthenium, and perfectly melts with the dark composition of Red Devil. The movement is fitted with Swiss lever escapement with a silicon pallet fork and escapement wheel and offers 72 hours of power reserve. Water resistant to approximately 100 meters, the new Hublot Red Devil is mounted on adjustable black rubber strap and fastened to the wrist with titanium deployant buckle.
This limited edition is produced in 500 numbered pieces for the micro-blasted black ceramic version and in 250 pieces for the King Gold 18K version. Every watch is accompanied by a certificate guaranteeing its authenticity, signed personally by Sir Alex Ferguson.
