Hublot has designed a very special, dedicated version of their famous Oceanographic 4000 chronograph – the limited edition Hublot Oceanographic 4000 Caribbean.
The beautiful Caribbean islands are notable for the diversity of their animals and plants, and classified as one of Conservation International's biodiversity hotspots. However, during the last decade, 80% of the coral surrounding Caribbean has been destroyed. Hublot has created this special limited edition Hubot Oceanographic 4000 Caribbean, to help to create coral nurseries, which have been endangered. All of the proceeds from the sale of the watch are going to be used to enrich the flora, fauna and sea life of the Caribbean coast.
The Oceanographic 4000 Caribbean Special Edition is a diver's watch resistant to the pressure at the depth of 4,000 metres. The case is made of grade 2 titanium, fitted with a screw-down case back and 6.5 thick sapphire crystal. The black dial is graced with bright turquoise blue highlights and embedded in a robust 48 mm wide watch-body. The dial, the flange and the hands of the watch are treated with blue-emission SuperLuminova, which makes this watch legible from a distance of 25 cm, even in the low light conditions.
Hubot Oceanographic 4000 Caribbean is powered by mechanical movement with automatic winding HUB1401. The mechanism is built on 23 jewels and assembled from 180 components and controlled by two screw-down crowns. The flange crown is used to set the dive time, while the second crown, positioned at 4 o'clock, adjusts the time and date. HUB1401 provides 42 hours of power reserve. In the spirit of true diver’s watches, Hubot Oceanographic 4000 Caribbean is topped with a unidirectional rotating bezel and a helium escapement valve, which is located at 10 o’clock position.
Hubot Oceanographic 4000 Caribbean is available in 100 individually numbered pieces, each belonging to the series dedicated to one of the Carribean islands: Aruba (15 pieces) Barbados (10 pieces), Caïmans (10 pieces), Cozume (10 pieces), Curaçao (5 pieces), Nassau (20 pieces), Puerto Rico (5 pieces), St Maarten (15 pieces) and St Thomas (15 pieces). Each of the watches is mounted on a black alligator strap with turquoise blue stitching.
