The house of Jaquet Droz introduces a new model to its iconic Grande Seconde Collection. In its latest reinterpretation, the Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Dual Time features a brand new mechanism, and elegantly positioned second time zone indicator. The new creation, aimed at all gentlemen of style who also happen to be frequent travelers, resonates with the Maison’s exciting history and evokes the memory of Pierre Jaquet Droz, who was also a great traveler and the first watchmaker to trade with the Forbidden City.
J016033200 - Grande Seconde Dual Time Ivory Enamel
The concept of worldwide journeys has already inspired a number of Jaquet Droz creations: the Twelve Cities, the Grande Heure GMT, the Time Zone. In 2016, Jaquet Droz extends the idea to one of its most emblematic models – the Grande Seconde. The new model, Grande Seconde Dual Time, is graced with two off-center sub-dials that slightly overlap to form a figure eight, the brand’s lucky number and a symbol of harmony and infinity. The upper dial displays the local time, while the lower dial displays the reference time, as it also keeps track of the time elapsed in seconds.

The classic, refined display remains true to the aesthetic principles of the brand. Despite its numerous indicators, the watch face is extremely neat and highly legible. Roman numerals are used on the upper counter, while Arabic numerals appear on the lower dial. The date complication, indicated by a red-tipped hand, also appears in the bottom dial, without disturbing the time zone and small seconds indicators.
J016030270 - Grande Seconde Dual Time Onyx
Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Dual Time comes in three 43 mm-diameter versions: an ivory Grand Feu enameled dial with a red gold case, and a silvery opaline or onyx dial with a stainless steel case. The rather large case accommodates the Jaquet Droz 2663H24, self-winding mechanical movement with silicon balance spring and pallet horns. Thanks to its double barrel system, the watch provides around 65 hours of power reserve. A sapphire case-back allows the wearer to admire the finely decorated mechanism, and especially its 18-karat oscillating weight.
Jaquet Droz Grande Seconde Dual Time watches are water resistant to 30 meters. Each of them is mounted on a rolled-edge hand-made alligator leather strap in matching color.
