Oris The Source Of Life Limited Edition

Oris, the world famous manufacturer of Swiss luxury wristwatches, introduces a limited edition watch that highlights the plight of the world’s water sources. The new Source of Life Limited Edition is announced as a philosophical timepiece inspired by the River Rhine in Switzerland. Based on the Oris Aquis diver’s watch, the new piece features a unique case-back embossed with a map of the River Rhine, which runs 1,233km (766 miles) through six countries, and close to the village of Hölstein where Oris has been based since 1904.

The watch is crafted from stainless steel, and it features a robust, sporty case measuring 43.5m in diameter. This exclusive diver’s piece is water resistant to 300 meters and has a uni-directional rotating bezel fitted with a grey tungsten insert with a 60-minute timer scale.

The case accommodates automatic movement Oris Caliber 733, based on Sellita SW 200-1, which provides the watch with a standout circular date indicator. Thanks to this unusual complication, the date is shown by a scale running from 1 to 31 around the center of the dial. Inside of a recessed date ring is a discrete white indicator that aligns with the scale as it rotates around the date ring. The dial also reveals a sweeping seconds hand with a lollipop tip filled with Super-LumiNova.

Oris The Source Of Life Limited Edition is mounted on either a stainless steel metal bracelet or a grey rubber strap. Both of them have stainless steel folding clasps that can be extended to be worn over a wetsuit. The exclusive new timepiece, reference 01 733 7730 4125 MB, is limited to 2343 pieces worldwide, reflecting the height above sea level of the Lai da Tuma – the source of the River Rhine. The blue grey dial is inspired by the colour of the fresh water at the River Rhine’s spring.

Oris The Source Of Life Limited Edition on a steel bracelet retails for $2,400 USD, while the rubber strap option comes with a price tag of $2,200. The watch is delivered in a special presentation box with an insignia on the inside featuring map of the River Rhine. For more information, please visit oris.ch.
