A special edition for TAG Heuer's new ambassador. Cara Delevingne.
On the occasion of the BaselWorld 2015 trade show, the house of Tag Heuer presented a special model designed to honor its new ambassador, Cara Delevingne. The famous British super model was introduced as TAG Heuer’s new feminine ambassador in January 2015, which was an amazingly smart move considering the fact that Delevingne has an impressive social media presence, with more than 13.3m Instagram followers. As explained by the watchmaking brand, “The girl whose every post on social media causes an online frenzy has chosen to become an ambassador for TAG Heuer.”
To wish her a warm welcome, the special edition designed for Cara Delevingne, has joined the TAG Heuer’s Carrera collection. This exclusive watch comes in an elegant steel case, coated in black titanium carbide. The bezel is made of the same material, and it comes in a couple of different variants: either plain, or set with 72 Wesselton white or black diamonds for a total weight of approx. 1 carat. The new Cara Delevingne Carrera retails between 2,100 and 4,750 Swiss francs, based upon the number of diamonds it includes.
The dial is also black-colored and it features elegant rose gold-plated appliques. It provides a nice, highly legible backdrop for quite simple indications such as hours, minutes, seconds and a date. The functions are powered by a Swiss Quartz movement, which is sealed against the ingress of water to up to 100 meters.
The reverse side of the black case reveals a commemorative medallion stamped with the image of lion, denoting the zodiac sign under which Cara was born in August 1992. Another surprise awaits for us on the inside of the strap, where Cara’s signature appears in rose-gold transfer. There are six different renditions of this model to choose from:
