TAG Heuer has just revealed the exclusive Carrera "NISMO" Caliber 16 Day-Date Chronograph Special Edition, a watch designed to celebrate the partnership with the Team Nissan NISMO.
On the occasion of the Legendary Le Mans, on 9th of June 2015, TAG Heuer attended at the most legendary of endurance motor races on the track with Team Nissan NISMO and their amazing LMP1 hybrid race car. This year’s competition is very special for Nissan, a brand that is back after 16 years of absence. Nissan has returned with a revolutionary new vehicle, with more than 1,000 horsepower, hybrid front wheel drive and a V6 3-liter twin turbo engine. While all other vehicles are powered by propulsion since 1997, this is the only vehicle in 2015 to be powered in such a way.
To celebrate the occasion, the house of TAG Heuer has revealed the TAG Heuer Carrera "NISMO" caliber 16 Day-Date Chronograph Special Edition, a watch housed in a sporty black case of 43mm in diameter. The dynamic, dark dial is graced with charcoal gray and red bands is embraced by the scratch-proof ceramic bezel with tachymetry scale engraved in white. The housing is made of titanium, and micro-blasted with titanium carbide, which means that it is extremely lightweight, and highly resistant to environmental shocks. The dial is protected with domed sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating on both sides, while the case-back reveals the commemorative Nissan NISMO insignia.
The watch is powered by TAG Heuer’s famous automatic caliber 16 movement, which beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and promises up to 42 hours of power reserve. In addition to hours, minutes, and small seconds at 9 o'clock, the watch also features a central seconds counter and date window with the rapid date correct. TAG Heuer Carrera Nissan NISMO Special Edition is mounted on a Soft Touch matt alligator strap with red top-stitching, and it is water-resistant to 100m.
