Tag Heuer releases a new limited edition cell phone. The new phone joins the line of TAG Heuer’s line of luxury phones this time honoring the 1971’s movie Le Mans, in which Steve McQueen wore the Tag Heuer Monaco Chronograph, designed to honor of the famous Formula One race.
The new TAG Heuer Gulf Meridiist cell phone is a piece of ultimate and unnecessary luxury that definitely adds a dash of style and class to owner’s appearance. The phone is created in companionship with Gulf Oil Company, and offers some handy functions of which some are driven from the world of horology: a reversible clock, 1/100 of a second chronograph and incoming call identification.
The cell phone features a distinctive black housing with an embedded OLED technology, protected by a sapphire crystal glass. The Organic Light-Emitting Diode provides a very futuristic look even more enhancing the original design. The black design is highlighted with legendary blue and orange stripes as well as Gulf Oil logo. The rectangular case is crafted in 316L stainless steel coated in black PVD. The material is scratch-resistant and also makes the phone more secured while the owner is holding it in hand. It prevents accidental dropping of the phone and even more comfortable feel.
The display has a resolution of 240×320 pixels and 260K colors, powered by the LI-Ion Battery that provides 28 days stand-by time and 7 hours talk-time. The whole creation weighs only 155 grams and boasts proportions of 112 x 46 x 15,5 mm.
The phone has a concealed digital camera with a 2 megapixel camera sensor (1 200 x 1 600 pixels), which can be used for both picture and video capturing. Storage space with 2GB of memory will certainly be enough to store more than 5000 pictures in standard 10x15cm quality print.
The watch is going to be offered in a limited edition of only 400 pieces. The price and the release date are yet unknown.
