The brand actually announces the new major milestone in watchmaking history with innovating high-frequency chronograph technology. The CEO of TAG Heuer said the Apollo Project is the brand’s “most radical, out-of-the-box, totally mind-blowing innovation to date.”
This is the brand’s most closely guarded secret ever and all of the information we have by now is this teaser image of the watch. TAG Heuer is famous for making some of the most important innovations in wathcmaking history. Their TAG Heuer Carrera Mikrograph 1/100th was the world’s first mechanical chronograph with a precision of 1/100th of a second on a flying central hand. The brand’s first 1/100th Mikrograph stopwatch was introduced in 1916, and revamped in 20 as the world’s first mechanical watch of such a precision. A couple of months ago, they released the Carrera Mikrograph 1/100th of a second chronograph, the first with a central hand displaying 1/100th of a second. What will be the next? The brand even posted a riddle for all of the fans:
If this year’s commercial launch of the Heuer Carrera Mikrograph 1/100th is to watchmaking what walking on the moon is to space history, then the top-secret Apollo Project is the equivalent of the first manned landing on Mars.
