A tribute to watchmaking traditions the Tissot Le Locle Regulateur.
Tissot, the famous Swiss watchmaking company founded in 1853, is paying homage to its rich watchmaking heritage and Swiss watchmaking traditions. On the occasion of the BaselWorld 2016, the house of Tissot introduces the Le Locle Regulateur, a nod to the original "Regulateur", which was a time reference instrument used in watchmakers workshops of the 18th and 19th century to check the accuracy of pocket watches. At that time, watches were not as accurate as they are today. The hour display was not of any great importance, but the minute display was, because historical watches varied in terms of minutes, rather than seconds, so minute was the most accurate quantification.

Tissot’s Le Locle Regulateur, echoes the old times by assigning the bottom part of the dial to the seconds counter, while placing the hour counter at the top. The separation of the second and hour hands on two different axis and sub-dials enables the wearer to complete minute reading at a glance. Obviously, modern-day regulators are not very effective for telling time, but their appeal is for being a bit unusual. This rare design is aimed at refined, more mature watch connoisseurs, looking for more than just a watch but a piece of history and art.

Tissot Le Locle Regulateur is available in a number of different options, made from steel, yellow gold PVD bicolor, or classic black with or without a rose gold case. In all of its renditions, Le Locle Regulateur features a see-through case-back and a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal cover. Its case of 39.3mm accommodates the Swiss made automatic movement, and is water resistant to up to 30 meters. The watch is mounted on a leather strap with butterfly clasp or 316L solid stainless steel bracelet with butterfly clasp and push-buttons.

The Tissot’s new Regulateur is a new member of the Le Locle watch family, which is named after Tissot’s home in the Swiss Jura Mountains.
