Tissot designed the new Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar NBA Special Edition, to honor the greatest partnership in its history.
Tissot, a brand dedicated to the search for new technologies, has always been associated with the world of sports. Until this very day, Tissot has timed many of the most important sporting events in the world, from skiing and cycling, to race car driving. The greatest partnership in Tissot’s history was announced in October 2015, when the National Basketball Association (NBA) signed its new multiyear global partnership with the Swiss watch brand. Tissot thus became the first Official Timekeeper of the NBA, Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), and NBA Development League (NBA D-League).
Following the groundbreaking announcement, the house of Tissot designed the new Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar NBA Special Edition, a watch that honors its new sporting partner and reflects the innovative technology that Tissot will be bringing to the court. The T-Touch Expert Solar watch belongs to the special line of tactile watches, equipped with a touch-screen, and powered by solar energy. The watch face incorporates a solar charger that collects the sun rays hitting its surface, to supply electricity for charging the battery.
For this special edition, the T-Touch Expert Solar timepiece is issued in a gold-colored case, also available in a cool grey. The rose-gold execution is actually PVD coating, while the material used for the case is titanium with black PVD. The famous NBA logo is engraved on the case-back, making this special edition a true collector’s item. Remember, this is the first time ever that the NBA has ever had its Timekeeper!
The functions of the watch, all 20 of them, remain the same.
METEO - The barometer function that shows the weather changes: relative and absolute air pressure.
ALTIMETER – Displays the information about the altitude above sea level, in meters or feet. It also shows the cumulative time, the cumulative gain and loss in altitude, the average ascent and descent speed in meters per minute or feet per minute.
CHRONO – Chrono lap is dedicated to measuring lap times with a precision to within a 100th of a second. Chrono split function measures total racing times for up to 99 racers competing in the same event.
COMPASS – Indicates true north. By adjusting the azimuth, the watch indicates the heading, which is shown at 12 o’clock, while the minute hand shows the north.
ALARM – Two 24-hour alarms with audible signal.
TIMER – Countdown from the time in hours, minutes and seconds. The Regatta function provides an adjustable countdown with an audible signal.
Tissot T-Touch Expert Solar NBA Special Edition is water resistant up to a pressure of 10 bar (100 m / 330 ft). The watch is mounted on a rubber strap with folding clasp with push-buttons. It measures 45mm in diameter. The watch retails at $ 1,075 for a grey version (T0914204720700) or $1,150 for the gold-colored variant.
