Three heritage models appear in new versions.
Vacheron Constantin presents new additions to its Historiques collection, which includes some of the most interesting vintage-styled timepieces available on the market. The famous luxury watchmaker has just introduced three heritage models, all much sought-after among watch aficionados, in completely new versions. The collection includes the Cornes de vache 1955 model, which is inspired by the historic 1955 chronograph; the cushion-shaped American 1921, and the Ultra-fine 1955 in platinum, equipped with a gold caliber.
Three new watches of the Vacheron Constantin Historiques collection, all modern reinterpretations of the legendary models, bear the Hallmark of Geneva. The watches are issued in highly exclusive limited editions.
Vacheron Constantin Historiques Cornes de vache 1955 is a classic watch fitted with distinctive cow horn lugs. The watch is inspired by the first water resistant chronograph designed by the Maison in 1955. The model is crafted in pink gold, and it measures 38.5 mm in diameter. The transparent case-back reveals the entirely hand-made manual-winding movement, Manufacture Caliber 1142, equipped with a column wheel shaped like a Maltese cross. The silvered opaline watch face reveals applied numerals and hour markers, a deep blue direct-drive seconds hand, 30-minute counter hand and tachymetric scale.
Vacheron Constantin Historiques Cornes de vache 1955, reference number 5000H/000R-B059, is water resistant to 30 meters. The watch is mounted on a brown Mississippiensis alligator leather strap with a 18-karat pink gold buckle.
Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921 is inspired by the original cushion-shaped model from the 1920’s, created by the Maison for the American market. The watch is distinguished by its prominent crown, which is placed between 1 and 2 o’clock, cambered case, diagonal time read-off, and small seconds indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock. The silver dial of this model bears 12 painted Arabic numerals, and a railway-type minute track. The time is indicated via blued Breguet-type hands, floating steadily below a lightly domed crystal. The case, measuring 40 x 40 mm in dimensions, is made of precious platinum 950. It houses Vacheron Constantin manual-winding Caliber 4400 AS, with comfortable power reserve of 65 hours. The movement, beating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, animates hours, minutes, and small seconds indications.
Vacheron Constantin Historiques American 1921, reference number 82035/000P-B168, is mounted on a dark blue Mississippiensis alligator leather strap with a platinum buckle.
Finally, the Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ultra-fine 1955 model rounds up the collection in the most sophisticated way. This exquisite timepiece demonstrates the Maison’s centuries-old tradition of making ultra-thin watches. In its modern-day interpretation, the Historiques Ultra-fine 1955 is equipped with the mechanical manual-winding manufacture movement Caliber 1003, which was developed back in 1955. The ultra-thin movement, measuring only 1.64 mm in diameter, is nestled inside of a round 35 mm-wide platinum case. The sapphire crystal case-back allows the wearer to admire its elaborate finishes, 18-karat gold bridges and plates, adorned by hand. The movement beats at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour, and offers 31 hours of power reserve.
Vacheron Constantin Historiques Ultra-fine 1955, reference number 33155/000P-B169, comes with a dark blue Mississippiensis alligator leather strap with a platinum buckle.
