A new triple calendar from Zenith - Zenith El Primero 410
Zenith presents a new model in its famous El Primero line of watches. This time, the famous Zenith El Primero uses the Calibre 401, a variation of the legendary El Primero movement, created all the way back in 1969. Zenith El Primero 410, the latest of all Zenith watches, represents a bridge between the past and present, featuring design codes loyal to historical models, but in a new, contemporary-styled case.
The El Primero 410 movement was created the same year as the famous El Primero automatic chronograph. The original El Primero was the first ever integrated automatic chronograph equipped with a date and a tachometric scale, while its younger brother El Primero 3019 PHF, later referenced as El Primero 410, included the with triple calendar and moon phase indications, as well. Calibre 410 was featured in many of the Manufacture’s creations until the year 2000, and Zenith is now revisiting its legend in a 500-piece limited series.
The El Primero Calibre 410 is finding its way back into the legendary El Primero collection with a silver-toned dial and a vintage 1970s design. There are three apertures on the dial, one at 10 o’clock for the days, the months counter at 2 o’clock, and the date indicator between 4 and 5 o’clock. The moon phase indicator is located within the hour sundial at 6 o’clock, portraying the revolutions of the night star and reproducing the faces of the moon.
Zenith El Primero 410 appears in a modern 42mm size, crafted from stainless steel. The case is gently curved, in accordance to the modern trends, the push pieces are slightly rounded while the snailed counters create a refined contrast with the sunray dial motif. The dial is embraced by the tachometric scale on the opaline inner bezel ring, while the emblematic Zenith star appears on the tip of the blue central chronograph seconds hand.
The 390 components of El Primero Calibre 410 are beating on the inside, being partially revealed through the sapphire crystal case-back. This automatic column-wheel chronograph movement is built on 31 jewels, it beats at a frequency of 36,000 VpH and runs on 50 hours of power reserve. Zenith El Primero 410 is water resistant to 100 meters and mounted on a brown alligator leather strap with protective rubber lining.
Zenith El Primero 410 is referenced as model No. 03.2091.410/01.C494. Available in 500 exemplars, this watch is priced at $11,000.
