Zenith presents the Elite 6150 model equipped with a new Manufacture movement: the Elite 6150 calibre.
On the occasion of the BaselWorl 2015 trade show, Zenith presents the Elite 6150 model, which is powered with a new in-house movement, the Elite 6150 calibre. This self-winding movement is announced as a modern take on the award-winning Elite base movement, which is developed in the early 1990s. The movement, which was pronounced the “Best Movement of the Year”, at Baselworld 1994, is now enhanced and restructured to meet the demands of present times. Essentially, the contemporary version of the Elite 6150 calibre now promises at least 100-hour power reserve, it has a central sweep-seconds hand, and a broader diameter of 30mm. On the other hand, the movement is very thin, and it measures 3,92mm in height.

The new Elite 6150 model comes in an elegant 42-mm stainless-steel case, paired with a cambered dial and three elegant, slender hands. The original Elite movement, developed by Zenith in 1994, was envisioned as an equally reliable, accurate, but more slender complement to the famous El Primero chronograph, even though it never earned the same degree of fame as the El Primero. In 2015, the Manufacture zenith is modernizing the Elite movement to integrate the latest technical and aesthetic achievements, and to adjust it to modern requirements, thus bringing the Elite movement firmly back to the forefront.

The new Elite 6150 caliber provides a double amount of power reserve. The original caliber had more than 50 hours of power reserve, while the new one promises no less than 100 hours, or more than 4 days, thanks to its double barrel system. The movement is built from 195 individual components, and its diameter has been significantly enlarged to fit the sizes of contemporary timepieces. In addition, this gives a base movement more flexibility for any future improvements and modifications. The calibre beats at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, and it is sealed against the ingress of water to up to 30 meters.
The Zenith Elite 6150 model is made of stainless steel and its ultra-thin case measures 42mm in diameter. The sizing, which is a first for Zenith, is announced as a new benchmark size for the brand. The reverse side reveals a transparent back, which discloses the mechanism in motion, and especially its oscillating weight adorned with the Côtes de Genève motif. On the dial side, a slender baton-type hands flow above a silver-toned backdrop, while the hour markers are hollowed out to create a sense of depth.

The Zenith Elite 6150 is mounted on a black rubber-lined alligator strap with a triple-blade folding clasp.
