The new Monza Automatic Chronograph Calibre 36 is officially presented a couple of days ago at BaselWorld, but it will not become available before June 2011. The watch is produced in a numbered limited edition 1911 pieces, to celebrate the famed “Time of Trip” dashboard chronograph of 1911. The watch is nested in classic cushion-shaped case, with distinctive blue hands floating above the white dial. Both hands and Arabic numerals are covered with vintage-style yellow luminescent coating. Two counters distributed on the dial indicate chronograph seconds and minutes, while small date window positioned at 4:30 completes the functionality.
The movement is based on an El Primero platform, and beats at 36.000 beats per hour, which makes it one of the fastest chronograph movements. The case, crafted in stainless steel, measures 38mm in diameter and has a transparent back with engraved series number.
The Monza Automatic Chronograph Calibre 36 is mounted on classic brown leather strap secured to the wrist with a folding buckle. Water resistant to 100 meters.
