TAG Heuer and the McLaren Formula One enjoy the long-running sponsorship agreement since 1985. This company often releases Formula 1 inspired models and special Gulf series with vertical blue and orange stripes. The Monaco Gulf series is one of the most successful examples of such a design. This is actually the first time that TAG Heuer has used the stripes on a timepiece other than the Monaco. The new watch repeats the emblematic stripes design, but this time in more discrete and thinner style.

The new watch is, in fact, a standard TAG Heuer Formula 1 Grand Date, adorned with a diamond-shaped pattern on the dial and famous orange/blue stripe with the Gulf Oil logo. The Ronda 6004.B quartz movement will animate the watch, allowing for a snalied black small seconds counter at 6 o’clock, and double big date indication inside of it. This movement id equipped with End of life indication and has a battery life of approximately months.
The watch will be crafted in stainless steel, with 44 millimeters in diameter, fitted with sporty bezel with an additional minute tracker in 5-minute increments. The watch is going to be water resistant to 200 meters and available on black rubber strap or on a stainless steel bracelet.
The Gulf-striped Formula 1 Grand Date will become available in late 2011, and priced somewhere around 1,000 CHF.
