Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Chronograph - Review

Posted 11 months, 3 weeks ago

A couple of days ago we gave you the first view on the new Vacheron Constantin Overseas Chronograph. Today, the official information from the brand is released so we can finally get a closer look at the models.

The Overseas collection is this year boosted with two new models. The Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar, which we already introduced, and the Overseas Small Model Date Self-Winding watch. Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar is a boutique exclusive. It is available only at 27 Vacheron Constantin boutiques around the world. This watch also presents the first highly complicated watch in the Overseas collection. It combines perpetual calendar and chronograph, animated by the Calibre 1136 QP movement. Exclusive as it is, the watch is available in a limited edition of 80 pieces. More than anything, the Overseas Chronograph Perpetual Calendar is a sports watch. For this reason, the core beats at 21,600 vibrations per hour and allows for about 40-hour power reserve.

The face of a watch indicates day of the week, the date, and the month on a 48-year cycle, complete with leap-year display and moon phases, paired with the chronograph function. The watch comes in a 42 millimeters wide case, crafted in stainless steel. Actually, the Overseas collection is the only line of Vacheron Constantin’s watches that offers models stainless steel. The case is decorated with a titanium bezel inspired by the Maltese Cross. From the case-back an engraved medallion depicts the Amerigo Vespucci three-masted sailing ship.

Water resistant to 50 meters, this watch is delivered with two straps: one in black vulcanized rubber and the other in dark grey alligator leather.
