Zenith El Primero 36,000 VPH 38mm Lady

Watches have always appealed to women but they are, for one reason or another, often considered more suitable for men. In reality, this is just a bad cliché, since women wore watches ever since the first days of watchmaking history. They were first worn on chains and necklaces, like pendants, or even attached to handbags, belts, or worn as bracelets. Essentially, watches for ladies were a piece of jewellery with an ability to tell the time, and technical skill was, historically, being put in the service of beauty and elegance.

Contemporary watchmakers have recently started to target women who truly understand and appreciate fine watchmaking. Zenith is certainly among those brands that perfectly combine haute horlogerie with a suppleness so appreciated by women. Their newest creation, El Primero 36,000 VPH 38mm Lady, is actually equipped with the world’s most precise movement, the celebrated El Primero 400. Zenith is one of the few Swiss watch brands that make their own mechanical movements, and their El Primero is a chronograph movement with a frequency of 36,000 alternations per hour, which allows a resolution of 1/10 of a second.



The watch comes with a tachometric scale, printed on the inner flange. Even though it looks refined and elegant, sculptured in pink gold and embellished with sparkling white gemstones, this watch is intended for ladies of action. The bezel and the lugs are spangled with brilliant-cut diamonds, 120 on the bezel and 44 on the case. Their total weight is no less than 0.6 carats.



The case measures 38 millimeters in diameter and embraces sunray-brushed chocolate brown dial. The face of a watch is protected with box-shaped sapphire crystal with anti-reflection treatment on both sides. Faceted hands and markers are gold-plated and layered with Superluminova. The Zenith El Primero 36,000 VPH 38mm Lady is water resistant to 100 meters, it provides 50 hours of power reserve, and comes mounted on a shiny brown alligator leather strap with protective rubber lining.
