In the words of the brand, the plan was to create a contemporary pocket watch that would actually be worn by the owner. Most of the pocket watches created today usually serve only as desk clocks or valuable, well-secured, pieces in private collections - almost no one wears a pocket watch on chain anymore. Masters of watchmaking from Hublot have agreed that a traditional take on pocket watch is useless, and they wanted to create a completely new concept and reinterpret a classic pocket watch in a modern, contemporary fashion.

As you can see on the pictures, the new Hublot’s pocket watch is shaped like a bullet. The inspiration for this design came when the head of Hublot’s High Complications department Mathias Buttet visited Mexico and saw locals wearing 9mm bullet pendants on their necklaces as good luck charms. The MP-03 pocket watch can also be worn as a pendant, attached to a belt, or even as a traditional watch. The piece has two flexible metal hoops on the back, allowing the wearer to attach it on a chain.

The watch is equipped with a horizontal tourbillon movement with three rotating wheels. The wheels are used to indicate hours and minutes, as seen through glass aperture on the bullet. The top of a bullet is actually a winding crown.
