HUBLOT Aero Bang Niemeyer

The maestro of modern architecture celebrates his 104th birthday later this month, and the famous Swiss brand decided to pay him a tribute with this new Aero Bang model. The watch is crafted in bead-lasted matte tantalum, to evoke the distinctive hue of reinforced concrete, which is one of the most distinctive aesthetic elements in Niemeyer’s opus. The hour-markers and hands feature yellow and green accents, paying homage to Niemeyer’s homeland – Brasil.


HUBLOT Aero Bang Niemeyer, case-back


On the case-back, the watch depicts the National Congress of Brazil in Brasilia, one of the Niemeyer’s most celebrated creations, along with his signature. The watch boasts 44.5 milimeters in diameter and uses HUB4214 mechanical chronograph movement with automatic winding. The watch provides 42 hours of power reserve and about 100 meters of water resistance. It is mounted on the gummy gator strap (rubber strap with alligator skin on top).

This exclusive watch is crafted in 104 numbered pieces, and available exclusively from Grifith in Brasilia, Brazil. A special exemplar, that bears a name of the Oscar Niemeyer, with the number 104/104, is presented to the famous architect at a private reception at his residence in Copacabana.
