Girard-Perregaux Jose Froilan Gonzalez Chronograph

Girard-Perregaux has just launched a wonderful new limited edition watch honoring the Argentine former racing driver José Froilán González. José Froilán González is noted as one of the Formula 1’s greatest drivers of all times, and best remembered as the one who scored Ferrari's first win in a Formula One. With this new release, Girard-Perregaux pays a tribute to the racing legend, and launches it the 60th Anniversary of that race.


Girard-Perregaux Jose Froilan Gonzalez Chronograph, case-back

The limited and numbered edition Tribute to Froilán González is a chronograph watch issued in 60 numbered pieces. The watch is crafted from stainless steel and measures 43 millimeters in diameter. The case is fitted with sapphire case-back with inverted push-pieces, which is skillfully engraved with the track of the Silverstone circuit, replicating its exact shape from 1951. The center of the engraving is graced with a drawing of the vintage red Ferrari that Froilán González was driving on the day of the victory.


The first chronograph, numbered 00/60, was offered to “Pepe” during a ceremony orchestrated by Fernando Stolov

The watch utilizes Girard-Perregaux GP33C0, automatic movement, endowed with 46 hours of power reserve. It offers indications for In the spirit of true racing chronograph, the watch is finished with a black rubber strap.
