Silverstone is one of the iconic 1970's Heurer models embodied once again in a slightly lighter case with minor changes to the sub-dials. The new models are basically identical to the originals and still preserve the vintage appeal.
The whole series was named for the famous UK racetrack and home to many of TAG Heuer’s racing ambassadors including Alain Prost in 1985 and 1989, Ayrton Senna in 1988, and lately, Lewis Hamilton and Jensen Button.
This piece is powered by TAG Heuer Calibre 11 – Automatic chronograph – oscillating weight with Côte de Genève finishing, and able to provide 50 hours of power reserve.
The dial is graced with monochrome vintage “HEUER” logo and “SILVERSTONE” lettering positioned at 12 o’clock. It also reveals two square sub-dials with running second counter at 3 o’clock and chronograph minute counter at 9 o’clock. There is also a small date window at 6 o'clock.
Crafted in square-shaped stainless steel case, with polished fine-shaped crown at 9 o’clock with vintage “HEUER” logo on the face, this watch is protected with sapphire crystal glass. The case-back is also made transparent, allowing direct view on the impressive movement.
Engraved on the caseback you will find the inscription: “150th ANNIVERSARY 1860-2010 – CALIBRE 11 – SILVERSTONE-LIMITED EDITION – SWISS MADE – N° XXXX-1860”
Coupled with genuine alligator strap, this watch is water resistant up to 100 meters, suitable for swimming and shallow snorkeling. |
