Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage

Alpina adds two new watches to its Seastrong Diver Heritage watch family. Introduced in 2016, the Seastrong Diver Heritage pays tribute to the historical Alpina 10 Super Compressor diving watch from 1969. This interesting historical timepiece featured two crowns, one of which was used to command the internal rotating bezel that measured elapsed time through a 1-160 minute scale. The Seastrong was water resistant to 200 meters, anti-magnetic, and it had a super-compressor case.

In its modern day rendition, the new Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage features a stainless steel case with a bronze color PVD-finish. The watch is generously sized at 42mm in diameter, and it retains all of the recognizable design features of the original, namely its two screw-in crowns at 2 and 4 o’clock. The upper one is for rotating the inner diving bezel, while the bottom one is used to set time and date. The water resistance level has been significantly improved, so the watch now resists water pressure to up to 300 meters, or 30 bar/1000ft.

The watch is powered by an automatic movement based on Sellita SW 200. The movement is modified by Alpina and named caliber AL-525. This is a 26-jewel movement that beats at a frequency of 28,800 vph, and provides 38 hours of power reserve.

The new Alpina Seastrong Diver Heritage is available in two versions: with an elegant brown dial and a brown or cream color rotating inner bezel with brown or beige markers. On both variants there is a date window at 4 o’clock, and rose gold-plated indexes and hands with white luminous treatment. The watch is mounted on a dark brown leather strap and delivered with an additional rubber strap. The price is 1’595 CHF / 1’595 EUR. For more information, please visit alpinawatches.com.
