The house of Armin Strom is launching a brand new Skeleton Pure in white gold. The new model was introduced on the occasion of the WatchTime New York, which is announced as the America’s largest luxury watch event.
Same as the Armin Strom One Week Skeleton collection, the Skeleton Pure range focuses on skeletonized in-house movements. Unlike the avant-garde One Week Skeleton, the Skeleton Pure features a classic skeletonized profile, where only the movement bridges have been cut away, while the remaining surfaces are hand-engraved. The word Pure, in the name of this model, refers to the pure, restrained profile of the movement, which is more contemporary, and less lavishly decorated than typical skeletons. The main decorative features of the movement are hand polishing, brushing and beveling, which highlights the layered construction of its components.
The Armin Strom’s Calibre ARM09-S has been skeletonized and its bridges have been accentuated through 3D PVD colorizations. The plate and the bridges of this manually wound movement are plated with rhodium, while its double-barrel ensures 8 days of power reserve. The movement breathes life into indicators for hours, minutes, small seconds, and power reserve. Assembled from 146 components and 34 jewels, the movement beats at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour.
The watch case is made of 18-karat white gold, and it measures 43 mm in diameter. The case features Armin Strom’s signature „lip“ on the bezel, which can be personalized and engraved at the owner's request. Its sapphire crystal case back protects the movement from the ingress of water to up to 50 meters. The watch is delivered with a genuine dark blue alligator horn-back strap and 18-karat white gold ardillon buckle, as well as an additional dark blue rubber strap.
Armin Strom Skeleton Pure in white gold, reference number WG15-PW.05, is limited to 100 pieces. The watch retails at 43,200 Swiss Francs.
