The latest watch in the Bucherer’s Blue Series is the IWC Portugieser Chronograph Bucherer, a piece that continues the one-of-a-kind collection of blue-colored watches made by the world’s finest watchmakers exclusively for the famous luxury goods retailer.
The new watch is an exclusive Bucherer Blue special edition, and it arrives in a limited run of 365 pieces. The IWC Portugieser Chronograph, with blue highlights, honors the nautical roots of the Swiss brand. This contemporary chronograph stems from the precision nautical instruments that IWC used to make for the world’s oceans explorers. It gets its name from two Portuguese clients who reached out to the IWC in 1939, with a request for a wristwatch that had the accuracy of a marine chronometer.
Even today, Portugieser remains faithful to its roots. In terms of design, the watch retains its minimalist aesthetic, the round case, sleek Arabic numerals and leaf-shaped hands. For the special Bucherer Blue Edition the precision scale is painted in a lovely shade of blue, which stands out nicely against the crisp white dial. The white and blue color scheme extends to the numerals, minutes scale, and a textile strap, which was exclusively made for the Bucherer Edition.
The IWC Portugieser Chronograph Bucherer Blue is a medium sized watch that measures 40.9mm in diameter. The watch is powered by the automatic movement Cal. 79350, which provides the stopwatch function for minutes and seconds, as well as 44 hours of power reserve. Based on ETA/Valjoux 7750, the movement beats at a standard frequency of 28.800 vph.
The IWC Portugieser Chronograph Bucherer Blue, reference IW371492, is limited to 365 pieces. Available exclusively at Bucherer boutiques and bucherer.com. The price is CHF 7.900.
