Marina Milojević | 08.10.12 | 02:07 PM

Linde Werdelin is a company famous for their limited numbered watch and instrument series. Their Oktopus line comprises of interesting dive pieces, stemming from an attempt to reinvent the concept of the sports watch and offer something that's more like a functional wrist-instrument. Linde Werdelin watches are extremely elegant in appearance, but they also feature attachable digital instruments for diving and free skiing. This way, the wearer doesn't have to compromise on style or functionality, since one and the same watch offers both.

Linde Werdelin Oktopus II Double Date Titanium Blue

The newest addition to brand's flagship model-line Oktopus is the new Oktopus II Double Date Titanium Blue. The modification of the original model is very subtle, but it certainly boosts the user experience and overall appeal of the watch. The major changes are visible in design features where a deep black dial now boasts indices coated in blue luminous material, blue tension disks, blue double date wheels and blue Linde Werdelin logo. The color play is very impressive and it results in intense depth of the dial.

The most distinctive detail of the Oktopus II Double Date is its innovative five-part case construction, which ensures superior water resistance to up to 300m. The case measures 44x46mm, and it is rather large with its 15,25mm in thickness. The crown and the case-back are embellished with an engraving of an octopus icon and an octopus drawing by Morten Linde.

Mechanical core of this piece beats to the cadenza of Linde Werdelin modified Dubois Depraz caliber 14580 movement. The mechanism provides up to 44 hours of power resistance and drives a double date complication (visible at 12 o'clock).

In addition to the blue model, Linde Werdelin also presents Oktopus II — Double Date in titanium, titanium DLC and ceramic with yellow accents in the dial. This variant shares the same technical features as the first one, except the color scheme. This time, the details on the watch-dial, and its strap, are lit by vibrant yellow-green details.

Each of the variants is issued in 88-piece series, both available from August 2012 from retail partners worldwide. This piece is priced at CHF 8800 excluding VAT. The brand has also announced Oktopus II - Double Date rose gold and titanium, which will be coming in September.

Introducing the Linde Werdelin SpidoLite II

Linde Werdelin is a watchmaking brand built upon an interesting concept. This high-end watch manufacture revolves around the “watch-instrument” idea – their creations are not watches in a true sense of the word, but rather luxury sports instruments that can also be worn with an attachable sports gear – for example, as a ski instrument or dive instrument. The brand has recently unveiled another ski instrument – the new SpidoLite II. “The SpidoLite II for me is the complete skeletonized experience. Four years in technology terms is a lot of...
