The latest timepiece coming from Louis Vuitton’s workshop is the Louis Vuitton Voyager GMT, a watch designed to accompany frequent travelers on their journeys.

Louis Vuitton, a French fashion house founded in 1854 by Louis Vuitton, is best known for its luxury trunk and leather goods. However, since 2002, when the Tambour watch collection was introduced, Louis Vuitton embarked on a journey to establish itself in a luxury watch segment. In 2014, Louis Vuitton opened its own watch manufacture - La Fabrique du Temps Louis Vuitton in Meyrin, Switzerland. This is where the Maison’s designers, artisans, and watchmakers collaborate on new creations inspired by time and travel, both deeply rooted in Louis Vuitton’s DNA. The latest timepiece coming from Louis Vuitton’s workshop is the Louis Vuitton Voyager GMT, a watch designed to accompany frequent travelers on their journeys.
The Louis Vuitton Voyager GMT promises to be by its owner’s side as he juggles multiple time zones, and travels from one city to another. This globetrotter’s accessory with a contemporary design is both masculine and urban. Its distinctive shape, a union of a circle and a square, has never been seen on a Louis Vuitton timepiece. Its slender lines and comfortable 41,5 mm diameter, make it functional for everyday use, and perfect for travels.
The interplay of textures accentuates the volume and depth of the creation. The sides of the case are satin finished, while the top is finely polished. It embraces a satin-finished dial with rounded hour and minute markers. The satin finished letter V with polished edges, the signature originally designed by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, indicates 12 o’clock and forms the steel bridge that supports its dial. The letter creates a visual contrast with the sunny dial and polished case, while its pointed base serves as an indicator for the GMT function.
The Louis Vuitton Voyager GMT timepiece is powered by automatic movement, which animates the 24-hour disc. The disc is calibrated at 24 hours and divided into two colors to indicate day and night. The model is available from June 2016, on a gray Taurillon leather bracelet with a steel folding clasp (4,200 euros, or $4,800,) or on a steel bracelet (4,600 euros, or $5,250), with a choice of gray or anthracite dial. In addition, there is an 18-carat pink gold version paired with a dark blue dial and an alligator bracelet in the same color (14,000 euros, or $16,000).
