Rado HyperChrome Chronograph Bronze and Ceramic Limited Edition

Marina Milojević | 09.06.18 | 02:23 AM

Swiss watchmaker Rado introduces a new and limited version of its HyperChrome Chronograph. The famous sporty model is now available in vintage-inspired bronze combined with Rado’s signature high-tech ceramic construction. The exclusive new model is distinguished by a seamless union of ancient and modern materials – bronze, which develops a rich patina over time, and lightweight, scratch-resistant ceramic – a material that the brand has been using extensively ever since 1986.

This sporty-chic model comes with a scratch-resistant high-tech ceramic case in matt midnight black. Measuring 45mm in diameter, the case is now mounted on a vintage looking, aged leather strap instead of the ceramic bracelet. The side inserts and chronograph pushers are made of bronze, which gives this watch its distinctive old-school appeal.

The rich, black watch face reveals a pleasing clash of different finishing techniques: a vertically-brushed dial, circular graining for the chronograph counters, and high-polishing for the bezel. The large Arabic numerals, applied indexes and hands, are all rose gold colored, same as the moving anchor symbol. A discreet date window is positioned at 4:30, while a borderless small seconds counter appears at 6 o’clock position. White-emission Super-LumiNova ensures perfect legibility even in low light conditions.

Powering the Rado HyperChrome Bronze Chronograph is an ETA 2894-2 movement, which can be admired through the sapphire case-back. This automatic caliber comes with a 42-hour power reserve and a customized black oscillating rotor. The case protects it from the ingress of water to 100 meters of depth.
