Rado unveils one of its creations from the BaselWorld 2016 collection – the Rado True Open Heart.
As announced by the brand, the original new model, Rado True Open Heart, which will be issued in two variants, Black or White, belongs to Rado’s lightness-inspired collection for 2016. The upbeat new models are crafted from either matt black or polished white ceramic, and offered in two different series, each limited to only 500 numbered pieces.

The dial, with its large apertures, reveals the generously decorated Swiss movement, lending the piece an airy feel, and letting the wearer admire the wonder of the precise mechanics. The misty veil floating above the watch face is actually an extremely thin 0.6 mm mother of pearl layer, which adds a touch of mystery by only subtly exposing the inner workings of the watch. The shimmering surface of the thin mother of pearl dial – either black or white - changes along with the lighting conditions and angle of view. This is because the watchmakers of Rado wanted to create an illusion of Aurora Borealis, a dial that evokes the feelings of lightness, as the movement appears as if it is suspended in space.

The new Rado True Open Heart timepiece is housed in the Rado’s signature Monobloc case, which is made of high-tech ceramic. This lightweight material is no less than 25% lighter than steel by volume, but nearly five times harder. Nestled inside is the reliable ETA C07.631 automatic mechanical movement, built on 25 jewels. The handsome three-hander promises up to 80 hours of power reserve, and it is water resistant to up to 50 meters.

Rado True Open Heart is available in a Black (734.0101.3.090) and White (734.0106.3.090) variant. Both versions feature a special engraving on the case back: “LIMITED EDITION ONE OUT OF 500,” I and they are delivered with a special edition certificate.
