Richard Mille presents a brand new piece – the amazing RM 037, fitted with the new automatic caliber CRMA1. The watch is going to be officially unveiled at the upcoming SIHH 2012 exhibition in January.
Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) is a landmark event for fine watchmaking professionals. This exhibiton is a trade fair open only to those who have been invited and registered by exhibiting brands. Next year, from Monday January 16th to Friday January 20th, a total of 19 brands will present their new models, arriving on market by the end of 2012. One of the watches to be on display is this original Richard Mille’s creation – RM 037.
As already mentioned, the watch uses a brand new in-house automatic winding caliber. In the spirit of all RM watches, with the movement is crafted from skeletonized grade 5 titanium, the new Richard Mille watch is highly durable and extremely lightweight. One of the novelties introduced with this piece is a new crown mechanism, which is separated from the case, instead of being directly attached to the movement. This original construction overcomes one of the common problems with automatic movements – a possibility to lose the crown or break the stem in the movement. Depending on the user’s preferences, the crown is available in titanium, red gold, or white gold.
There is still no detailed information about the available case-materials and technical specifications. However, judging from the promotional image, I can say that the watch features classic Richard Mille’s pusher at 4 o’clock, for winding (W), neutral (N) and hand setting (H) functions. The aperture at 4 o’clock is the active-function indicator. The other side of the case reveals another pusher, located at 10 o’clock. This is used to control date indicator. The watch is water resistant to 50 meters and provides 50 hours of power reserve.
