Richard Mille has just unveiled a new limited edition automatic caliber RM030, designed to honor the prestige watch retailer Kronometry 1999.
The new watch symbolizes the first year of successful cooperation between the famous Swiss brand and Kronometry 1999’s boutiques. The Richard Mille RM 030 Kronometry 1999 limited edition is carved from black DLC-treated titanium, with applied charcoal numerals and bright orange highlights on the dial. The vivid details echo through various features including the second markers, power reserve, declutchable rotor indicator, and tips of the hands.
The watch is powered by the new RMAR1 automatic movement, which is built on 40 jewels at beats at a frequency of 4Hz. The movement uses Richard Mille's patterned declutchable rotor system, which was in development for no less than four years. The greatest advantage of this feature is, as the name suggests, that a rotor declutches automatically.

The system works this way: when the power reserve comes up to 50 hours, a rotor declutches automatically thanks to a special gear system. The rotor is, therefore, moved from the barrel, but it clutches again when the power reserve drops to 40 hours, and goes into winding phase until it is fully wound. There is also a rewinding indicator, positioned at 12 o'clock, informing the wearer whether the rotor is in winding phase (on) or is declutched (off). The mechanism is linked to the power reserve indicator, which is visible at 9 o'clock.
Richard Mille Rm030 Kronometry 1999 Limited Edition is available in only 9 exemplars. The watch is already available for purchase from Kronometry 1999’s boutiques in Cannes and Monaco. It will soon be introduced to Kronometry 1999's London flagship store located in New Bond Street.
