RJ-Romain Jerome manufacture has just launched its very first diver's watch in the Titanic-DNA series - aptly named Octopus.
The watch is named after the ocean giant and a symbol of Jules Verne's novel Twenty Thousand Leagues under the Sea. As you can see on the pictures, the watch is truly different from all other RJ-Romain Jerome watches, however, this is not only a fluctuation in aesthetic expression but also in technical performance.
One interesting motif echoes through different details of the watch – the number eight. It is the very same number that holds special importance for Jaquet Droz, the lucky number in numerous world's cultures and, of course, the number of legs of the octopus. The case measures 46mm in diameter and it incorporates octagon head screws.
One interesting feature that immediately captures attention is that the Octopus features two crowns. The one at 9 o'clock is used to set the watch, while the second one, at 3 o'clock works with the elapsed time controller. The watch is fitted with an exclusive internal unidirectional rotating bezel engraved with five-minute graduation. The outer bezel is, just like the rest of the Titanic-DNA collection, crafted with oxidized and stabilized steel from the Titanic.

RJ-Romain Black Octopus
The Octopus is powered by mechanical self-winding movement RJ002-A2, which beats at 28,800 v/h and provides no less than 42 hours of power reserve. The mechanism drives indications for the central hours, minutes and seconds, as well as the elapsed diving time controller. The time-markers and the black gold hands are coated with Superluminova "blue emission," ensuring the perfect legibility even in the ocean depths. Speaking about it, RJ-Romain Jerome Octopus is water resistant to 888 feet, which is about 270 meters.

RJ-Romain Red Octopus
RJ-Romain Jerome Octopus is fitted with an unusual rough finishing dial with black or rhodiumed and satin-brushed traverses. The case-back of the watch reveals a hand-engraved Octopus figure, the serial number of the watch and the individual number of the limited series. RJ-Romain Jerome Octopus is issued in a limited edition of only 888 exemplars, and available in a couple of variations:
