A couple of days ago, we offered you a first look at one of the new creations by Roger Dubuis, which will be officially unveiled at the upcoming Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH 2017). In addition to the Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Cobalt Micro-Melt, which is a fresh, colorful interpretation of the Excalibur Quatuor, Roger Dubuis will also present the new version of the Excalibur Spider. The Excalibur Spider, which made its debut last year, now appears in the Excalibur Spider Skeleton Automatic version, boasting a distinctive star-motif openworked dial, a fully exposed micro-rotor, and blue and red accents.

The exciting new Excalibur Spider Skeleton Automatic is presented in a large, 45 mm-wide titanium case that measures 14.02 mm in height. The watch remains faithful to the recognizable DNA of the legendary Excalibur line, while, at the same time, it exemplifies the mastery of skeleton work. The extremely skeletonizes Spider model derives its name from elaborate and delicate work of a spider’s web, pushing the limit of the craft by skeletonizing not only the movement, but also the case, flange, and hands.

The case is crafted from blackened DLC-coated titanium, while the bezel, in natural-colored titanium, features black vulcanized rubber highlights. Same as the Excalibur Quatuor Cobalt Micro-Melt, the Excalibur Spider Skeleton Automatic for SIHH 2017 utilizes the blue, white and red color scheme, and comes on a blue leather strap with vibrantly red stitching. The red-tipped skeletonized hour and minute hands are gracefully floating above the charcoal gray rhodium-plated bridges with circular-grained pattern.
