Speake-Marin Magister Tourbillon is inspired by the Foundation Pocket Watch, the first time-piece to leave the Speake-Marin workshop, back in 2001.

Speake-Marin is a relatively young watchmaking company founded by in 2002, by English watchmaker Peter Speake-Marin. The company is specialized in production of high-end Swiss watches, and its collection has grown from time-only wristwatches to highly complicated pieces such as the recently introduced Magister Tourbillon.

The Magister Tourbillon is inspired by the Foundation Pocket Watch, which is the first timepiece to bear Speake-Marin name. The new Speake-Marin Magister Tourbillon is another creation that beautifully epitomizes Speake-Marin’s watch design. This time, it comes in either titanium or red gold version, fitted with a mechanical self-winding SM3 tourbillon caliber. The case is modeled after Peter Speake-Marin’s first wristwatch model – the Piccadilly, which is easily recognized by its screwed lugs, pleated crown and a drum-like case shape. The enamel dial with blued steel hands features tapered Roman numerals, and provides an elegant backdrop for hours and minute functions. In addition, the watch face reveals the glory of the tourbillon cage, as it appears at 6 o’clock position. The tourbillon is in constant motion, as it continuously rotates, completing one revolution each minute. The tourbillon is capped with the Speake-Marin topping tool insignia.

Speake-Marin Magister Tourbillon features a platinum micro-rotor, rhodium-plated German silver bridges, and a Glucydur balance. The 25-jewel tourbillon beats at 21,600 vib/h, and provides around 72 hours of power reserve. The watch is mounted on a hand-stitched alligator leather strap with either titanium or red gold buckle. The mechanism is revealed through the sapphire crystal case-back, which also protects it from the ingress of water to up to 30 meters.
