On the occasion of the BaselWorld 2015 trade show, the house of Speake-Marin has introduced its first women's watch – the Shenandoah.
The watch is a new member of the J-Class Collection, which is inspired the beauty and refinement of the world's finest racing yachts. Same as any other model belonging to Speake-Marin's J-Class range, the Shenandoah watch is a prestigious timepiece of timeless elegance, sophistication and complexity. Even though it retains the emblematic design codes of the collection, the Shenandoah is a feminine timepiece, all the way down to the tiniest details. Like all other models from the J-Class collection, the Shenandoah is named after a sailing ship – a famous schooner from 1902.This Amerindian word means "the beautiful girl of the stars". The model, which is entirely designed and developed by Speake-Marin's in-house designers, features the Foundation style central hour and minute hands. The creation is born out of Speake-Marin's desire to truly honor women, and that is why the Maison created an entirely new model, rather than just resizing an existent one and embellishing it with diamonds. There are twelve different versions to choose from: equipped with one or two time zones, in white or red gold, gem-set or plain. The flagship model in this range is inspired by great expeditions. It features a dial adorned with naval maps, and a dual time zone function. The traveler’s version of Shenandoah is also presented in a more classical manner, decorated with bold Arabic or Roman numerals. Both variants are fitted with Quartz Eta E01-001 movements, which are housed in oval cases of 38mm x 31mm.
