Ulysse Nardin presents its newest creation fitted with the manufacture movement UN-32 that allows the date to be adjusted both forward and backward. The new Ulysse Nardin Perpetual Manufacture will be officially unveiled at BaselWorld 2014 trade show.
Ulysse Nardin Perpetual Manufacture is created in celebration of infinity. This extraordinary new creation features a movement with the most advanced perpetual calendar complication in the history of watchmaking. The dial is stamped with the symbol “∞”as a special sign that marks this special limited edition.
A perpetual calendar complication is designed to allow the calculation of the day of the week for a given date in the future. It takes into account not only days and weeks, but also the different lengths of the months as well as leap days. The sophisticated mechanism of a perpetual calendar has a mechanical memory of 1,461 days and, if the wearer keeps it wound, it won’t require any adjustments until the year 2100.
The day, date, month and year indications on this watch can be adjusted by turning the crown in either direction. In addition, the Ulysse Nardin Perpetual Manufacture offers a second-time zone indicator, which is controlled using the “+” and “-” push-pieces at 4 and 8 o’clock. The calendar functions will synchronize automatically when the hour hand is re-adjusted. The GMT hand, with a vibrant red tip, can be used to point either the home time or a second time zone.
Ulysse Nardin Perpetual Manufacture is available in a limited edition comprising of 250 watches in rose gold and 250 in platinum. The model is delivered in a 43 mm case and mounted on a leather strap with folding buckle. The COSC-certified automatic chronometer movement, Caliber UN-32, runs on 48 hours of power reserve and it is sealed against the ingress of water to up to 30m.
