Ulysse Nardin is launching its very first wristwatch with exclusive skeleton tourbillon caliber – The Ulysse Nardin Skeleton Tourbillon Manufacture limited edition.
The new Ulysse NardinSkeleton Tourbillon Manufacture pays a tribute to the brand's rich heritage, its watchmaking expertise and refined artistic sensibility. The Ulysse Nardin's new model combines cutting-edge technology and artistic exploration of the finest themes such as lightweightness and transparency. In an attempt to reveal its inner workings , the watchmakers have reduced the structure of the movement, using a fine skeletonizing technique. This allows the light to freely penetrate through the sapphire crystal and refract over the metallic components of the movement - hand-finished bridges decorated with satin-finish sunray pattern and vibrant blued screws.

A special new movement, Caliber UN-170, has been developed for this watch. As you can see, its unusual architecture incorporates the barrel at 12 o'clock and the escapament, placed at the opposite end, at 6 o'clock. A ratcheted wheel engraved with the brand's insignia and the power reserve dominates the upper portion of the dial, while the lower part of the watch-face reveals t a flying tourbillon. The movement is hand-wound and it provides about 170 hours of power reserve. It is built on 23 jewels and beats at 18.000 vibrations per hour, driving the simple functions for hours and minutes.

Ulysse Nardin Skeleton Tourbillon Manufacture is available in two different variants, crafted from either red gold or platinum. Both of the editions are limited to 99 pieces each. The red gold version features rhodium-plated train wheels, while the platinum version train wheels are finished in 18-carat yellow gold. The watches are sized at 44 mm and sealed against the ingress of water to up to 30 meters. The case-back bears a screwed-in plate engraved with the serial number. Ulysse Nardin Skeleton Tourbillon Manufacture is mounted on an alligator leather strap and fastened to the wrist by simple buckle.

Ulysse Nardin Skeleton Tourbillon Manufacture reference numbers are: 1702-129 for red gold 1709-129 for platinum.
