Vacheron Constantin’s Quai de l’Ile collection welcomes a new addition. The brand has just introduced a novel stainless steel model with a trendy blue dial and a luxurious blue leather strap. The collection, which was first introduced in 2008, is an homage to the historical site of Vacheron Constantin, the crossing place between the banks of the Rhone, home to the famous 19th century master Cabinotiers that has been transformed into an urban hub.
Just like the place that inspires them, the watches of the Quai de l’Ile collection unite the best of the Swiss traditional watchmaking with contemporary, modern-day design. The new model features a large, 41 mm-diameter stainless steel case that combines three iconic shapes from the aesthetic heritage of Vacheron Constantin: a round bezel, a cushion-type case and a tonneau caseband. The original shape in shape design is accentuated by alternating polished and satin-brushed finishes, while the split-level lugs emphasize the dynamics of the case.
The multi-level dial is painted blue and teamed with an opaline finish. Its hour-markers and Arabic numerals entirely made of white luminescent material, while the date is shown by a two-level indicator. A sapphire disc at the center of the dial displays the days of the month.
The case houses a mechanical self-winding movement Calibre 5100, which is entirely designed and developed by Vacheron Constantin. The movement, made up form 172 components and 37 jewels, beats at a rate of 28,800 vibrations per hour and offers at least 60 hours of power reserve. Visible through the sapphire case-back are its modernly decorated surfaces, as well as chamfering, polishing, circular graining, Côtes de Genève performed in line with the finest Geneva watchmaking traditions.
The new Vacheron Constantin Quai de l’Ile in stainless steel with a blue dial, reference 4500S/000A-B364, is water resistant to 30 meters. The watch is mounted on a blue alligator leather or blue rubber strap, and secured to the wrist with a steel folding clasp. The model retails for US$ 14,900.
