Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Ginza 7 Forged Carbon

Audemars Piguet is engaged in a long-term project to aid the victims of the Tohoku earthquake in Northern Japan. The goal is to raise 100 million yen to be donated to the Japanese Red Cross. The Charity Night, that took place on July 11th, was just one of many charity events organized by the brand. No less than 40 of original clocks signed by world famous celebrities and AP ambassadors from United States, Spain, United Kingdom and Switzerland were put on the display at Blue Note Tokyo, and all of them are going to be on auction until August 31st.

This event was also a perfect opportunity to launch the new Royal Oak Offshore GINZA 7 Forged Carbon. The new model is issued in a limited edition of 200 pieces and the Audemars Piguet Boutique in Ginza, from July 2011, exclusively distributes it. Ten percent of sales of this watch will be donated to the SUPPORT JAP AN foundation.

The new watch is a robust chronograph nested in a forged carbon case. It features an emblematic octagonal bezel, secured with 8 screws, and boasts 42 millimeters in diameter. The watch offers a variety of functions, including a date display, small seconds, 30-minutes and 12-hour counters. It is powered by automatic movement, completely assembled and decorated by hand. The movement features a 22-carat gold rotor and it is visible from the case-back. A special detail on the dial is numeral 7, graced with diamonds, as a special insignia of the “Ginza 7” collection. The watch is mounted on a black crocodile strap finished with titanium folding buckle. It provides 100 meters of water resistance.

This is a numbered limited edition of which Royal Oak Offshore Ginza 7 Stainless Steel serial No. 7 and Ginza 7 Forged Carbon serial No. 7 will be available for online bidding from July 12th until August 31st 2011 on the Audemars Piguet Boutique Ginza Website. The watch will be available for purchase from August, priced at 3,307,500 yen. Stainless steel model is priced at 2,660,000 yen.
