On the occasion of the SIHH 2018, the famous German watchmaker A. Lange & Sohne introduced a beautiful new timepiece based on the „less is more“ philosophy. The thinnest model in A. Lange & Sohne’s line, Saxonia Thin, was unveiled in an elegant copper blue version, with a stunning dial that imparts both depth and charisma to the legendary model.

The latest Saxonia Thin is crafted from noble white gold and it measures only 6.2mm in thickness. The 39mm-wide, elegantly rounded case is echoed by slender hands and hour markers in rhodiumed gold. The most distinctive feature of the new watch is certainly its nocturnal blue dial, crafted from pure silver and coated with a thin layer of glistening goldstone. The dial, recalling the blue midnight sky, features small copper oxide crystals encapsulated on a deep blue backdrop, so it almost looks like Aventurine. The unique effect is said to be obtained using a technique that dates back to 17th-century Venice.

 A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Thin in copper blue is powered by the manually-wound manufacture caliber L093.1, equipped with a flat mainspring barrel. The movement provides about 72 hours of power reserve. A classic screw balance with an in-house made hairspring oscillates beneath the hand-engraved balance cock with the distinctive whiplash spring. A dark blue hand-stitched alligator leather strap rounds up the classic design.
