Ateliers deMonaco Admiral Chronographe Flyback – Saphir

Marina Milojević | 08.15.16 | 10:26 PM

Ateliers deMonaco, the famous independent high-end luxury watch manufacture that develops and manufactures timepieces in Monaco, presents its latest creation – the Admiral Chronographe Flyback – Saphir.

The latest addition to the Ateliers deMonaco range is the very special, sporty elegant chronograph, equipped with a flyback function. The function, which debuted in 1936, enables the wearer to use the reset function without the need to first stop the chronograph. In this way, flyback chronograph allows its user to save valuable time when timing an event, which made it a favorite amongst pilots and sportsmen.

The flyback function is quite easy to use. Each time the wearer pushes the flyback pusher, the timing stops at the first interval and the hand jumps back to zero. The chronograph starts again once the pusher is released. The complex chronograph mechanism is housed in an elegant 18K rose or white gold case that measures 42mm in diameter. The case embraces the impressive dial, which is entirely made out of sapphire crystal. In this way, the wearer can admire the movement and all of its details directly from the watch face. Over 50 holes had to be delicately pierced into its surface in order to fix the diamond-cut and curved Roman numerals. The dial reveals indicators for hours, minutes, small seconds (9 o’clock), chronograph seconds counter (center), and chronograph minutes counter (3 o’clock).

Behind this precious exterior beats the automatic dMc-760 caliber, equipped with a patented flyback chronograph with ‘’direct return to zero’’ mechanism. The movement operates at a frequency of 28800 alternations per hour while offering a 38-hour power reserve. The mechanism is decorated with 32 jewels, hand-engraved bridges, and a 22K gold hand-engraved rotor. Each and every of its elements is fully polished and assembled by hand. Ateliers deMonaco Admiral Chronographe Flyback – Saphir is mounted on a hand-stitched alligator leather strap with an 18K gold ardillon buckle. The watch is water resistant to 30 meters of depth. Available in two variants, each limited to 88 pieces worldwide.
