Chopard's Classic Racing collection is now enriched with three new high-performance watches which are, for the first time in this collection, equipped with Chopard's in-house movements: Chopard Superfast Automatic Superfast Power Control and Superfast Chrono
Over the last 20 years Chopard has established itself in the world of classic car racing. The brand is, for many years now, the official partner of famous rallies such as Grand Prix de Monaco Historique and the Mille Miglia. The Classic Racing Collection is the bridge between automotive engineering and mechanical watchmaking, where each of the pieces is designed to honor the timeless classic cars, their power, precision and performance.
Superfast models stand out from the rest form the Classic Racing collection with their generous proportions, bold lines and refined mechanical movements. The Superfast watches are designed for true admirers of fine watchmaking and high-speed enthusiasts who appreciate aesthetic appeal and distinctive design of historical racing cars.
Their black dials are graced with silver brushed vertical lines designed after the cooling fins on racing engines. The inner bezel, with its minute track, evokes the sports car rev-counters and speedometers, while the rubber strap boasts a tire motif, reminiscent of high-speed track motor racing. The in-house movements used in the Chopard Superfast models have also been meticulously finished in the spirit of true haute horlogerie. The bridges are openworked so that the inner workings of the mechanism reveal themselves through the crystal case-back.
Chopard Superfast Automatic utilizes the COSC certified self-winding Chopard Calibre 01.01-M that drives indications for hours, minutes, seconds, and the date at 6 o’clock. Chopard Superfast Automatic measures 41mm in diameter, it is crafted in 18-carat pink gold and sealed against the ingress of water to up to 100 meters. The Chopard Calibre 01.01-M comes with a power reserve of 60 hours. Ref. 161290-5001
Chopard Superfast Power Control is powered by Chopard Calibre 01.02-M and it offers a bit wider range of functions: hours, minutes, subsidiary seconds, date and a power-reserve indicator. This model is a bit larger and its rose gold case measures a generous 45 mm diameter. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters and endowed with 60 hours of power reserve. Ref. 161291-5001
Chopard Superfast Chrono is fitted with a mechanical self-winding movement Chopard Calibre 03.05-M. The chronograph movement powers hours, minutes, small seconds at 6 o’clock, a a date display between 4 and 5 o’clock, a chrono sweep seconds hand, and two counters at 3 and 9 o’clock (for minutes and hours, respectively.) The movement provides 60 hours of power reserve, while the case promises up to 100 meters of water resistance. Ref. 161284-5001
