In addition to new Mille Miglia models, Chopard launches Grand Prix de Monaco Historique 2012, as a tribute to 1970s racing cars.
The Grand Prix de Monaco Historique race was first organized in 1998, to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the Grimaldio Dynasty. Since then, the race is organized as a biannual event, that gathers high-speed racing enthusiasts from all over the world. For the famous watchmaking company, events such as this one are always a wonderful occasion for creation of new watches. In 2012 Chopard unveils Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronographs 2012 in titanium or titanium and rose gold versions.
Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph for 2012 radiates the spirit of the 70's and boasts recognizable colors of historical racing cars. The vintage style of the 70's is recreated in combination of the matt titanium case and the anthracite dial, lit up by bright colorful accents: orange or blue.
The new chronograph is powered by a mechanical self-winding COSC certified movement that provides 48 hours of power reserve. the Grand Prix de Monaco Historique 2012 model displays the hours, minutes, small seconds and the date, along with the chronograph functions and a tachometric scale. Everything is arranged neatly inside 42.4 mm-diameter, while the exhibition back engraved with the inscription “Grand Prix de Monaco Historique” provides a glimpse at the inner workings. The case-back is graced with the insignia of the Automobile Club de Monaco.
Chopard Grand Prix de Monaco Historique Chronograph 2012 is available in a special titanium and rose gold 500-piece limited edition. The watches arrive on perforated grey Barenia leather straps with orange or blue stitching.
