Chopard is celebrating its 150th anniversary by presenting yet another masterpiece from their workshops: the L.U.C Tourbillon Esprit de Fleurier, a white gold chronometer issued in a 15-piece limited edition.
At the core of this marvelous timepiece beats L.U.C Calibre 4TT3NGM, officially COSC certified chronometer hand-wound movement. Visually, the most striking details are hand engraved movement parts in the traditional Fleuirer style, visible through the dial and from the case-back. This gorgeous masterpiece celebrates both technical expertise and a delicate craftsmanship, that is today becoming more and more forgotten.
Two sets of two stacked barrels of the tourbillon provide as much as 8 days of power reserve, which is indicated at the display positioned at 2 o’clock. Additionally, the watch indicates the hours, minutes, and small seconds at 6 o'clock. The mainplate and the bridges are crafted in gold and adorned with hand-crafted fleurisanne engraving, making each piece unique.
The spectacular 19th century engraving technique, fleurisanne, is specially used to decorate the bridges and bars of movements, rotors, cases and dials. Fleurisanne presents the sophisticated art of carving metal in high relief with a contrasting background. Only a few artists who can work metal with extreme dexterity have master Fleurisanne decorations. This technique involves cutting away metal to leave a pattern in relief, requiring the greatest skill and hours of concentration.
The L.U.C Tourbillon Esprit de Fleurier is embodied in an 18-carat white gold case measuring 40.5 mm in diameter and water-resistant to 30 meters.
