Chopard presents the Mille Miglia 2014 model
Chopard is, once again, paying a tribute to the historical cars and the world’s most renowned classic car race – the Mille Miglia 2014. Same as every year, the famous Swiss watchmaking brand is releasing another limited edition vintage-inspired timepiece with gentleman’s driver-style personality. The Mille Miglia 2014 model is an old-fashioned chronograph distinguished by its elegant, sophisticated and distinctively Italian profile.
The watch features a red tachometric scale and hands, white dial and green minute circle, to evoke the colors of the Italian national flag. Instead of the standard rubber strap with Dunlop tyre motif, this year’s model is paying a tribute to the oldest cars taking part in this race with its over-stitched Barenia calfskin strap. As always, there is a red arrow-shaped Mille Miglia logo on the dial, as well as on the case back.
The Chopard Mille Miglia 2014 model is available in either stainless steel or 18-carat rose gold. Both of the variants feature 42mm in diameter and they’re stylishly embellished with vintage detailing. The dial fonts are rendered in cursive, in the spirit of 1920’s lettering. The lugs are soldered, and the housing is finely polished. On the inside, it conceals a powerful, COSC-certified self-winding chronograph movement which beats at 28,800 vph and provides around 42 hours of power reserve.
In addition to hours and minutes, the Chopard Mille Miglia 2014 model has seconds counters at 6, 9 and 3 o’clock, while the date window appears between 4 and 5 o’clock. The model is issued 2014 pieces in steel and 250 pieces in rose gold, which are referenced as 168511-3036 and 161274-5006, respectively.
